Vigan Food Trip!

8 hours of travel time, 24 hours of good food!

One round of food trip during our overnight stay at Vigan, Ilocos Sur!

Breakfast -- Plaza Burgos
Arrived at around 6AM.  We really wanted to get a feel of Vigan life so we decided to visit the food stalls by the plaza! It is located just right beside St. Paul Cathedral. Locals usually eat here after their morning jog. We had a heavenly yet affordable breakfast! Lomi is a must try!.

Lunch -- Cafe Leona
After dropping off our bags at the hotel, we went straight to Cafe Leona located at Crisologo Street. Of course, we ordered Vigan's very famous bagnet and longganisa!

Afternoon Merienda -- Hidden Garden
Our calesa driver told us that we could not possibly leave the city without trying Hidden Garden's Empanada! Truly, it was delish! Not the usual empanada that you could buy inside the malls. It's crispy stuffed with egg, vigan longganisa and papaya.

Dinner & Drinks -- Uno Grille
Because we scheduled an early Pagudpud trip the next day, we ended our night by having dinner and drinks at Uno Grille. The restaurant is located at Bonifacio StreetGreat ambiance and exquisite food!

One of the best trips I've had! I would not mind a round 2! Anyone?

Best Japanese Ramen in the Philippines!!!

We had lunch at Shinjuku Ramen House last week to try its famous ramen!  It is located at Hercules St cor. Makati Ave.

I was totally surprised to see the place jampacked with Japanese people! A good sign that the restaurant serves authentic Jap ramen!
We ordered Shoyu ramen (P 240) and Sapporo ramen (P 245).  Both were good choices!

Best-selling Shoyu Ramen

Shinjuku's best gyoza is really worth a try!  It matches perfectly with your order of ramen!
Shinjuku's Gyoza: 4 pcs (P 175)

Best Japanese ramen in the Philippines I must say!

Capricciosa Ristorante italiano!

Last week, I was really craving for pizza so I googled all the Italian restaurants in Makati.  I finally saw Capricciosa located at Greenbelt 3.  I suggested this place to my friends for dinner since its pizza list looks really appetizing!
The restaurant has a very soothing ambiance! It will make you enjoy your food more. Capricciosa pizza and seafood spaghetti are worth trying!
This is a house specialty.  Southern Italian Napoleon style pizza topped with salami, bacon, mushroom, and bell peppers
(P 485)

Fresh seafood, peeled shrimp, sliced squid, tuna, mussels and clams in special tomato sauce, served with sauteed garlic
(P 365)

Delicious food! It did serve my pizza craving!

Yakimix Restaurant!

Hello, February! I finally got a new camera! Thanks to my sister.

Last Friday, we went to Yakimix, Greenbelt for dinner.  I've been really intrigued about this P 580 worth buffet since they serve Japanese, Cantonese and Korean Cuisine.
The restaurant was jampacked! There was a long queue!  They do reservations but it has to be at least a week earlier.  Good thing is they give complimentary drinks to diners while they are waiting.
After waiting and bugging the receptionist for almost 2 hours, we finally got a sit!
There were overwhelming choices that you would not know what to get first.
Japanese
Cantonese
Korean

They also serve dessert and ice cream buffet.  And oh, they give candle-lighted cakes to birthday celebrants!
Eating ice cream was a good way to end the meal!

It surely was worth the wait!

Kanin Club at Ayala Triangle

My sister has been hearing a lot about Kanin Club so she asked me to have lunch there before she head back to Singapore.  We ate at Ayala Triangle but there are two other branches: one at Ayala Technohub and the other one at Paseo de Sta. Rosa, Laguna (their first branch).

We ordered their very famous Crispy Dinuguan and Sinigang na Sinangag!  We also tried Kangkong Adobo on the side.
Crispy Dinuguan (P 261)

Sinigang na Sinangag (P 224)

Kangkong Adobo (P 97)

The dishes are all good for twoHuge serving! We did not finish everything so we gave our take-outs to my condo's lobby guards for them to try as well!

I must say Kanin Club is one of the best Filipino restaurants in the country! Great Food.  Big Serving.  Reasonable Price.

Foreign Correspondents Club of Cambodia!

You can't leave Phnom Penh without visiting the tourists' most loved spot by the riverfront -- Foreign Correspondents Club of Cambodia (FCC).   It is a 4-level boutique hotel located at 363 Sisowath Quay.  Their restaurant & bar serve great food and drinks!

On the 1st floor, you will find FCC's Cafe Fresco.  They serve the best cappuccino and latte! Price range is ~US$ 2 -5.  This is a good choice for breakfast or if you want to unwind after a long night.

The 2nd floor houses the hotel rooms and photo exhibits.  The restaurant is on the 3rd floor.  If you want to have the best casual and open-aired dining experience then this is the perfect place! They serve fusion cuisine -- traditional Khmer flavors with French influences.  The food is relatively pricey compared to other restaurants in the area.  One dish is about ~ US$ 7-10.  What you are paying for is the great atmosphere and view! Best place to be at sunset!
Great view of the Mekong River!

The Bar is at the hotel's roof terrace.  It houses various events and live music! The bar offers several mixtures of drinks but if it is your first time in Cambodia, you might want to try their most famous local beer too!

This blog makes me want to escape the busy life more.
